As you type, in any app
Mistakes get a wavy underline while you write: red for spelling, blue for wording. Point at one and a card offers the fix, and ⌃⌘↩ accepts it.
In pictures, slides and designs
Press ⌃⌘P (Ctrl+Alt+P on Windows) and drag over any text on screen. SansTypo reads the pixels and marks what it finds — in a Keynote deck, a Figma frame, a screenshot someone sent you.
In the browser and AI chat boxes
In an AI chat box, an Enhance button tidies the prompt you wrote, before you send it. It uses built-in rules on your computer, and ⌘Z puts your own words back.

How can I tell?
Open your browser’s network panel while it checks. Nothing leaves. The page fetches the checker from this site once, about 1 MB, and the file never goes to anything.

Is it free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy and no account.
Does it send my text anywhere?
No. SansTypo checks your writing on your own computer. There is no SansTypo server, so there is nowhere for your text to go.
Which languages?
On a Mac, the languages macOS has dictionaries for — over 40. On Windows, English for now.
Does it work in my browser?
Yes, the app checks text fields in any browser. The extension makes it better: marks sit inside the page and scroll with it.
What does it need permission for on a Mac?
Accessibility, to read the field you’re typing in. Screen Recording only if you want it to read text in pictures. It asks for each, and says why, the first time.
How is it different from the spell checker I have?
It works the same way in every app, it catches wording slips as well as spelling, and it reads text a spell checker can’t: slides, designs, PDFs and screenshots.
